SortBlox: Color Sort Puzzle
SortBlox turns the familiar water sort puzzle into a tactile online color sorting game with solid cubes. Move matching cubes between four-slot tubes until every filled tube contains four blocks of one color. All 1,000 levels are generated from solved states and published with a replayable solution path.
How to play SortBlox
- Select a tube, then select the tube where you want to pour.
- You can pour into an empty tube or onto a cube of the same color.
- As many cubes as will fit move from the matching run at the top.
- Complete the level with every tube empty or filled by four cubes of one color.
Empty tubes are working space
An empty tube is not simply a destination. It is the buffer that lets you expose buried colors and rearrange the order of the stacks. Filling every spare tube too early can leave several legal moves but no route to the finished arrangement.
A 1,000-level campaign
The campaign contains 1,000 validated levels across 50 map chapters. Early puzzles teach legal pours and color runs. Later levels use more colors, deeper interleaving, and less obvious ways to recover an empty tube. Progress is saved locally in the browser.
Useful strategy
- Expose colors that can join an existing group before opening another stack.
- Avoid placing different colors into every empty tube at the same time.
- When several pours are legal, prefer the one that creates a complete tube or restores a buffer.
Hidden-color curtains
From level 31 onward, some puzzles can cover part of a tube with a curtain. Work with the visible cubes first; after enough blocks leave that tube, the curtain lifts and reveals the colors underneath.
Undo and three-star targets
Undo restores the previous tube layout, including any curtain that was revealed. Each level has a target derived from its solution proof: meet it for three stars, or finish in additional moves for two or one star.

Is SortBlox a water sort game?
It uses the same core color-sorting logic, but the pieces are solid blocks. Matching cubes at the top of a tube move together as a visible group.
Can I undo a pour?
Yes. The undo button restores the previous tube and curtain state, which is also useful when no legal moves remain.
What do the curtains hide?
Later puzzles can conceal part of a tube. Move its visible top cubes away and the curtain lifts once the remaining stack is low enough.
